COSMI – Socio-labor Orientation Center
The Socio-Labor Orientation Center for Immigrant Women (COSMI) was created by “Mujeres en Igualdad” in September 2004 in the district of Puente de Vallecas (Madrid).
COSMI’s objective is to encourage the participation of the female population at risk of social exclusion, paying special attention to their labor, economic, social, educational and legal problems, attending 300 women every year.
The activity of the project is focuses on the Socio-labor Insertion. This program, subsidized in 2019 by the Ministry of Health, Consumption and Social Welfare (Spain), promotes the participation of women in the social life of the neighborhood, the intervention for the social inclusion of immigrant women, the prevention of racist and discriminatory behaviors and awareness in favor of equality and against gender violence, paying special attention to young women.
The services provided during the year 2018, were:
- Work orientation
- Advice and help in carrying out the CV.
- Information on training actions.
- Social and psychological orientation.
- Prevention of gender violence, work with groups of mothers and fathers, etc.
